Biography
Florent Siaud is a French theatre and opera stage director and co-founder of the theatre company Les Songes Turbulents, whose productions have frequently been finalists or recipients of the Prix de la critique du Québec. Since the 2018–2019 season, he has also served as an associate artist at the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne in France.

For the 2025/26 season, Florent Siaud’s projects span both opera and theatre. In opera, he will direct new productions of Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Puccini’s Madame Butterfly at the Opéra de Toulon. In theatre, he will make his debut at the Comédie-Française with Lumières, Lumières, Lumières, a play by Evelyne de la Chenelière based on Virginia Woolf’s writings and return to the Théâtre de Quat’sous in Montreal to direct La cathédrale engloutie by Rébecca Déraspe.

His recent opera work includes the world premiere of Une fête d’enfants by Michel Marc Bouchard (Théâtre du Nouveau Monde), a chamber Tosca for Théâtre de Compiègne (with a France-Belgium tour), and 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane (Théâtre de la Ville, Quebec). Previous productions are Lully’s Armide (Drottningholm Slottsteater), Lohengrin (Opéra national du Rhin), Eugene Onegin (Opéra national du Capitole de Toulouse), La Tragédie de Carmen (Festival de Saint-Céré, Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne), Tosca (Opéra de Reims), and the world premiere of Julien Bilodeau’s La beauté du monde (Opéra de Montréal).
