Biography
Marie-Eve Signeyrole is a French director and author whose opera productions have garnered international acclaim. Hailed by Le Figaro as “breathtaking,” and described by Olyrix as “experiential, on the border between opera, theatre and performance,” her work was recognized at the 2024 International Opera Awards, where she was nominated in the category of Best Director.

Highlights of the 2025/26 season feature Der fliegende Holländer at the Opéra de Rouen in a co-production with the Opéra de Nancy, alongside Così fan tutte at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, created in collaboration with the Opéra de Lyon—a production that has received widespread critical acclaim.

Ms Signeyrole’s recent work encompasses major productions such as Macbeth at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Médée by Cherubini at the Opéra Comique in Paris, and Così fan tutte at the Opéra de Lyon. She also revived Bernard Foccroulle’s Cassandra at Staatsoper Berlin, following its world premiere at La Monnaie in Brussels. She staged Roméo et Juliette and Belshazzar at Theater an der Wien and directed the world premiere of Négar by Keyvan Chemirani at Deutsche Oper Berlin, based on a libretto co-written with Sonia Hossein-Pour. Additional recent credits include Turandot at the Semperoper Dresden, L’infedeltà delusa at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Frédégonde at Theater Dortmund, Rigoletto at the Opéra national de Montpellier, and a trilogy of major productions—Norma, Samson et Dalila, and Don Giovanni—at the Opéra national du Rhin.
